The 18th District of the Missouri House of Representatives encompasses southwestern Clay County including a portion of Kansas City and the entirety of the municipalities of Avondale and North Kansas City.
Some of many noticeable landmarks include the Charles B. Wheeler Downtown Airport, Harrah's Casino, Macken Park, Midwest Baptist Theological Seminary, North Kansas City Hospital, the Northland Fountain, and Penguin Park.
Some neighborhoods in the 18th District include Antioch Acres, Big Shoal, Briarcliff-Claymont, Briarcliff West, Chaumiere, Chouteau Estates, Cooley Highlands, Crestview, Harlem, Highland Gardens, Maple Park West, River Forest, River View, Sherwood Estates, Winwood, and Woodhill.
The 18th District is entirely within the North Kansas City School District and contains the following schools:
Public school students who live in the 18th District go to three of the North Kansas City School District's four high schools; North Kansas City High School (Eastgate 6th Grade Center, Northgate Middle School), Oak Park High School (Gateway 6th Grade Center, Antioch Middle School), and Winnetonka High School (Eastgate 6th Grade Center, Maple Park Middle School).
Eagle Heights Christian School, Faith Christian Academy, Outreach Christian Education, St. Pius X High School and St. Gabriel Catholic School are also in the district.
